Job summary

Jacobs in Boise is seeking a Senior Bridge Engineer to lead transformative transportation projects across Idaho and beyond. This role emphasizes client leadership, mentoring, and expanding our bridge practice while delivering high-quality designs.

You will work with ITD, LHTAC, and Idaho Highway Districts to strengthen partnerships and pursue new opportunities, coordinating with Jacobs teams and subcontractors.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering.
• PE registration.
• 15+ years of bridge design experience including steel girder, prestressed concrete, and earth retaining structures.
• Strong working knowledge of AASHTO LRFD design code.
• Proficiency in LARSA, Midas, CSi Bridge, or other finite element modeling software.
• Experience with Leap Bridge, Bridge Link, LPile, etc.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain client relationships.
• Experience working with ITD, LHTAC, and or Idaho Highway Districts.
• Strong leadership and project delivery experience.
• Experience supporting or leading proposal development.

As a Senior Bridge Engineer, you will be a cornerstone of our Boise team, leading transformative transportation structure projects across Idaho and beyond. This role goes beyond design. We are looking for someone who can connect with clients, bring trusted relationships, and play a key role in expanding and mentoring our bridge practice in the region.

Your experience working with the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD), Local Highway Technical Assistance Council (LHTAC), and Idaho Highway Districts will be essential as you help strengthen partnerships, identify opportunities, and position Jacobs as a trusted advisor.

From steel girders to prestressed concrete, your technical expertise will shape the infrastructure of tomorrow, while your client leadership will help grow our presence and influence across the state.

Here’s what you’ll need

• BS in Civil Engineering
• PE registration
• 15 plus years of bridge design experience including steel girder, prestressed concrete, and earth retaining structures
• Strong working knowledge of AASHTO LRFD design code
• Proficiency in LARSA, Midas, CSi Bridge, or other finite element modeling software
• Experience with other structural design software such as Leap Bridge, Bridge Link, LPile, etc.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain client relationships
• Experience working with ITD, LHTAC, and or Idaho Highway Districts
• Strong leadership and project delivery experience
• Experience supporting or leading proposal development

Ideally, you will also have

• A Masters degree, or higher, focused on Structural Engineering
• Design build project experience
• Proven success in business development and growing client accounts
• Experience helping build or expand a regional bridge practice or technical group
• Project Manager experience

The base salary range for this position is $144,700.00 to $253,300.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
