Job summary

ATF is seeking a Supervisory Criminal Investigator (Branch Chief) in Washington, DC. The role provides investigative leadership and oversight for criminal investigations and organizational performance related to law enforcement programs.

The incumbent will develop branch goals, supervise staff, and coordinate with DOJ and other agencies, ensuring policy execution and effective program management in a high‑risk environment.

Qualifications

• Leading and guiding investigative procedures including arrest, processing, and handling of dangerous evidence.
• Conducting surveys, studies, and analyses to identify problems and propose solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements branch policies, practices, and procedures.
• Advises leadership on branch programs and projects.
• Assesses, develops, and evaluates program goals, needs, operations, and accomplishments.
• Plans short- and long-range objectives in response to funding, policy, or legislation.
• Coordinates projects with management across ATF and DOJ, and with other law enforcement agencies.
