Qualifications

• Specialized Experience in law enforcement or other responsible work demonstrating the ability to make arrests and exercise sound judgment in the use of firearms.
• Experience interpreting and enforcing immigration or comparable laws, rules, and regulations.
• Time-in-grade requirements must be met by current federal employees.

Responsibilities

• Detect and question persons suspected of violating immigration or customs laws; inspect documents and possessions to determine citizenship.
• Prevent and apprehend undocumented noncitizens and smugglers near borders using various government assets.
• Maintain surveillance and perform checks at borders, transportation hubs, and coastal waterways to accomplish USBP mission.
