Job summary

Barnes & Noble Booksellers, Inc. is seeking a Senior Bookseller to join a busy store team. You will greet customers, connect readers with titles, and lead by example at the register while supporting colleagues and sharing product knowledge.

You will help refresh merchandising, maintain presentation across departments, and assist with deliveries and shelving. A friendly, proactive attitude and reliable attendance are essential to succeed in this role.

Qualifications

• Reliable attendance and punctuality for scheduled shifts.
• Willingness to work early mornings, late evenings, weekends and most holidays.
• Positive, helpful attitude and willingness to support colleagues.
• Curiosity and eagerness to learn new skills and knowledge in the store.

Responsibilities

• Master operational competencies of a Barnes & Noble bookseller.
• Proficient in using registers, computers, tablets and other tools; troubleshoot routine issues.
• Refresh book presentations and maintain store cleanliness and merchandising.
• Maintain and refresh presentation in gifting, toys and other product categories; assist customers at the register.
• Assist receiving and unpacking of deliveries; ensure efficient shelving.
• Help customers locate books and identify alternatives when out of stock using available tools.
• Support the café team when needed.
• Understand and apply loss prevention procedures.
