Job summary

PKF O'Connor Davies TalentConnect client, a recreational sports and training facility in Secaucus, NJ, is seeking a seasoned Bookkeeper to join its accounting team. The position requires a strong track record in maintaining the general ledger, A/P, A/R, payroll, and bank reconciliations.

Responsibilities include reconciling POS ledgers with QuickBooks, managing vendor payments, inventory counts, tax reports, and monthly close processes to support the CPA review.

Qualifications

• Most recent employment must be directly in bookkeeping/accounting function.
• Bachelor’s Degree in accounting.
• 10+ years of bookkeeping and / or accounting experience.
• Exceptional QuickBooks skillset to enable daily success and migration to QuickBooks Online.
• Mastery of Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Extensive experience driving annual closings to completion.
• Organize information, identify trends, analyze discrepancies and communicate with senior management.
• Interest in growing into Controller position with internal promotion.

Responsibilities

• Review POS sales ledgers, cash-outs, discrepancies, and authorize bank deposits.
• A/P, A/R, General Ledger and Chart of Accounts maintenance.
• Reconcile bank accounts and manage cash transfers.
• Coordinate weekly data transfer between POS system and QuickBooks with accuracy.
• Manage vendor payments and weekly cash expenses.
• Process bi-weekly payroll with QuickBooks.
• Perform monthly inventory cycle counts and analysis.
• Record monthly credit card and petty cash expenses.
• Prepare monthly sales tax reports and remit payments.
• Prepare reports and adjusting entries for CPA review.
