As we continue to grow, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Bookkeeper to join our team and support our financial operations.

Job Summary:

The Senior Bookkeeper will be responsible for managing the financial records and accounting processes for our portfolio of commercial properties. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with extensive experience in bookkeeping, particularly within the property management or real estate sector. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of financial regulations, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to handle increasing volumes of financial data as the company grows.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for all properties, including income, expenses, and tenant accounts.
  • Process rent collections, manage tenant billing, and handle accounts receivable and payable.
  • Reconcile bank statements, credit card accounts, and other financial accounts on a regular basis.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for management and stakeholders.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, providing insights and recommendations based on financial data.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and standards, particularly those related to real estate and property management.
  • Collaborate with property managers and other team members to resolve financial discrepancies and improve financial processes.
  • Utilize accounting software to streamline financial operations and maintain data integrity.
  • Support the finance team in audits and other financial reviews as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor`s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of bookkeeping experience, with at least 2 years in property management or real estate.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Yardi, or similar).
  • Strong understanding of financial regulations and accounting principles.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience with financial reporting and budgeting.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Bookkeeper (CB) or similar certification.
  • Experience with commercial property management.
  • Familiarity with tax regulations related to real estate.
