Job summary

Simon & Schuster US is seeking a Production Manager to support the Adult division. The role oversees frontlist titles including hardcover and paperback originals, coordinating across internal teams and external vendors.

The Production Manager manages timelines, quality, title specs, and P&Ls while collaborating with Production, Design, Editorial, and other groups to ensure smooth manufacturing processes.

Qualifications

• 5 years of book production experience.
• Knowledge of printing and manufacturing processes including domestic and overseas vendor management.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to oversee multiple titles.
• Excellent communication, organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and title management systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the manufacturing of 150 titles per year.
• Oversee project timelines, ensuring deadlines are met and risks are identified and mitigated.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing issues and ensure quality standards.
• Guide the creation and maintenance of accurate title specifications in internal systems.
• Oversee purchase orders and P&Ls.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with domestic and international vendors.
• Partner with internal stakeholders across Production, Demand Planning, Managing Ed, Production Editorial, Art Department, Design.
