Horace Mann is seeking an experienced Bodily Injury Adjuster III to join our Claims team in Springfield. You will manage complex, high-exposure bodily injury claims, including investigations, litigation, and negotiations, while delivering exceptional customer service.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of bodily injury claims experience.
• Demonstrated experience handling complex bodily injury and litigation claims.
• Strong knowledge of insurance coverage, liability, medical terminology, and bodily injury evaluation.
• Experience handling UM/UIM claims.
• Proven ability to prepare and manage mediation and arbitration submissions.
• Strong business acumen, analytical skills, and sound decision-making abilities.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Obtain and maintain all required state adjuster licenses.
• Excellent investigation and negotiation skills
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities

Responsabilités

• Investigate and manage complex bodily injury claims, including litigation and high-exposure losses.
• Verify coverage, determine liability, evaluate damages, and conduct thorough investigations.
• Analyze medical documentation, laws, and case precedents to complete evaluations.
• Demonstrate sound judgment in liability, damages, and settlement opportunities.
• Manage injury litigation from assignment through resolution.
• Prepare mediation and arbitration submissions and represent the company in dispute resolutions.
• Partner with defense counsel to develop claim strategies and outcomes.
• Negotiate settlements complying with best practices and regulatory requirements.
• Deliver exceptional customer experiences through proactive, transparent communication.
• Mentor less experienced claim professionals and share best practices.
• Maintain compliance with state regulations, policies, and standards.
• Utilize claims management systems to manage inventory and ownership of claims
