Job summary

Graphcore in Austin, Texas is seeking an experienced Board-Level Hardware Validation Engineer to define and execute validation strategies for complex electronic systems, ensuring performance, reliability and quality before mass production.

You will lead hands-on validation, develop test plans, automate tests with Python/LabVIEW/MATLAB, collaborate with ODM partners, review designs, and drive issue resolution across engineering and manufacturing to enable successful product ramp.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of board-level hardware validation experience.
• Strong understanding of digital and mixed-signal systems.
• Experience validating high-speed interfaces (PCIe, USB, Ethernet, DDR, MIPI, SPI, I2C, UART).
• Hands-on lab experience with instrumentation and measurements.
• Experience with ODMs, contract manufacturers, or external partners.
• Strong hardware debugging and root-cause analysis skills.
• Experience developing test automation using Python, LabVIEW, MATLAB, or similar tools.

Responsibilities

• Define board-level and inter-board validation plans from requirements and customer use cases.
• Develop validation methodologies: functional, electrical, thermal, power, signal integrity, reliability, stress testing.
• Establish test coverage, acceptance criteria, qualification requirements, and release gates.
• Review schematics and interfaces to identify validation risks early.
• Define incremental validation and regression coverage for design changes and firmware updates.
• Develop and execute tests on prototype and production hardware.
• Perform board bring-up, functional verification, electrical characterization, and system integration testing.
• Validate interfaces, control signals, timing, and power sequencing across states.
• Automate deployment, checks, and data collection for regression tests.
• Collaborate with ODMs/CMs to align plans and drive issue resolution.
• Document plans, results, traceability, and readiness assessments.
