Job summary

Charles Schwab Corporation seeks a Blockchain Platform Architect to define and guide architecture for enterprise-grade blockchain and digital asset platforms within the Technology Incubation organization.

Reporting to the Director of Technology, you will translate emerging opportunities into secure, scalable, and operational platform designs that move from experimentation to enterprise adoption. This role collaborates across engineering, security, risk, and legal teams.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience delivering platforms or complex tech initiatives.
• Strong foundation in modern architectures, cloud-native development, and best practices.
• Ability to influence decisions without being the primary implementer.

Responsibilities

• Own target-state architecture and roadmap for blockchain and digital asset capabilities.
• Design secure, scalable distributed systems for pilot delivery and production use.
• Evaluate protocols, node infra, custody patterns, and interoperability models.
• Guide implementation with engineering, review designs, and establish reusable patterns.
• Collaborate with security, risk, legal, and enterprise architecture to meet controls.
• Create architecture docs, reference models, and graduation criteria for production ownership.
• Translate architecture choices into business value, risk, and adoption paths.
