Job summary

Global Settlement is building institutional-grade blockchain settlement infrastructure in Miami, focusing on core chain architecture, node infrastructure, consensus mechanisms, and cross-chain systems. This is a hands-on engineering role on production systems, not a research role, with daily work in node, consensus, and settlement‑protocol code.

You will design, implement, and optimize the core chain, drive RFCs and architectural decisions, and mentor engineers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years software engineering, with 3+ years blockchain development
• Hands-on experience with blockchain node infrastructure, consensus algorithms, and protocol-level design
• Proficiency in Rust, Go, Solidity, Java, or Python and ability to switch stacks as needed
• Production experience with Ethereum, Cosmos, Hyperledger, Canton, or similar L1/L2 networks
• Familiarity with cryptographic primitives, key management, and on-chain security
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and Docker/Kubernetes
• Startup mindset and ability to work autonomously, shipping robust infrastructure

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain blockchain node infrastructure and settlement protocol architecture
• Implement and optimize consensus mechanisms for enterprise-grade performance and deterministic finality
• Architect cross-chain communication and bridging systems for multi-network interoperability
• Improve security, scalability, and reliability across all chain-level systems
• Debug and harden production systems, including edge cases and on-chain security
• Lead technical research on emerging protocols and translate findings into shipped code
• Collaborate with smart contract, application, and banking-integration teams
• Own RFCs and architecture decision records, mentoring engineers through reviews
• Role is hands-on with ~80% coding time, 10% strategizing, 10% documenting
