Job summary

Mastercard is seeking a Senior Software Engineer – Blockchain to join the Mastercard Blockchain and Digital Assets Engineering team. You will design, develop, and deploy scalable Ethereum/EVM and Web3 solutions for global markets.

You will collaborate across product, security, and compliance, mentor engineers, drive secure coding practices, and evaluate new blockchain technologies to keep Mastercard at the forefront of digital payments.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience.
Strong expertise in Ethereum/EVM and Web3 development using ethers.js or web3.js.
Proficiency in Solidity and hands-on experience designing, developing, and deploying production-grade smart contracts.
Deep understanding of blockchain fundamentals, including consensus, gas, wallets, and security best practices.
Experience with Hardhat, Foundry, or similar toolchains.
Solid knowledge of software engineering principles, system design, and modern development methodologies.
Experience with Docker and Kubernetes in cloud-native environments.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automation platforms.
Proficiency with version control and collaborative development in multi-engineer teams.
Experience building automated unit/integration tests and end-to-end test suites.

Responsibilities

Design and develop scalable, production-grade smart contract systems and Web3 integrations within the Ethereum/EVM ecosystem.
Lead architecture discussions, balancing scalability, security, performance, and maintainability.
Translate complex business requirements into robust blockchain-based solutions aligned with enterprise standards.
Participate in architecture reviews, code reviews, and technical design sessions to drive engineering excellence.
Collaborate with product, compliance, security, and engineering teams throughout the SDLC.
Mentor and support engineers, fostering technical growth and best practices.
Evaluate emerging blockchain technologies, protocols, and development frameworks for opportunities.
Contribute to evolving engineering practices, tooling, automation, and software quality standards.
Develop, test, deploy, and support applications in cloud-native, containerized environments.
Champion secure coding practices and operational excellence across development and delivery.
