Global Settlement is hiring a Senior Blockchain Engineer to own the core settlement path of the GSX Chain, ensuring end-to-end transaction lifecycle and deterministic finality for institutional settlements. You will work hands-on in node infrastructure, consensus, and settlement protocols.

You will spend about 80% coding, 10% strategy, and 10% documentation, collaborating with protocol, ledger, and infra engineers to deliver testnet and mainnet milestones for regulated digital asset settlements.

Global Settlement (globalsettlement.com) is building institutional-grade blockchain settlement infrastructure that bridges traditional banking and digital markets through stablecoins, commodities, FX, and real-world assets (RWAs). Think the global settlement reach of SWIFT, rebuilt for real-time, regulated digital asset transactions.

The Role

You own the core settlement path of GSX Chain end to end: transaction lifecycle, finality guarantees, and the failure modes that only surface when money is stuck. This is blockchain infrastructure engineering on a payments chain. You will be in the node, consensus, and settlement-protocol code daily, making settlement provably correct under real institutional load.

Time split: roughly 80% coding, 10% strategy and coordination with the team, 10% documentation.

What You’ll Do

• Design, build, and operate the settlement path across the network, from transaction submission through deterministic finality.
• Harden consensus and recovery behavior under partial failure: network partitions, validator faults, stalled or replayed transactions, and reorg edge cases.
• Build the reconciliation and audit surface institutional clients verify settlement against.
• Own the incident path for chain-level settlement faults: detection, runbooks, root cause, and the fix.
• Instrument settlement latency, throughput, and correctness so the team sees problems before clients do.
• Contribute to cross-chain and bridging design where settlement spans networks, and write the RFCs and architecture decision records those changes build against.
• Work directly with protocol, ledger, banking‑integration, and infrastructure engineers to ship testnet and mainnet milestones.

What You Bring

• 5+ years of software engineering, with 3+ years in blockchain protocol or node infrastructure. Production-grade blockchain experience beyond smart contracts is required.
• Deep hands-on experience with blockchain node infrastructure, consensus algorithms (BFT, PoS, PoA variants), and distributed systems design.
• Rust and/or Go experience, and the flexibility to switch stacks as the roadmap moves.
• Production experience with Ethereum, Hyperledger, Canton, or comparable L1/L2 networks. Full L1 node build-out and management of significant on-chain volume is the strongest signal.
• Command of cryptographic primitives, key management, and on-chain security practices.
• Cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Startup work ethic and heavy use of productivity and coding tools to multiply your own output and the team’s. You can take a three-bullet brief and execute without hand-holding.

Scope Note

This is a blockchain infrastructure role scoped to the settlement layer. The core focus is chain-level correctness, consensus behavior, node operations, and the settlement protocol. If your experience is solely in smart contract development or application backends without protocol-level work, this may not be the right fit.
