Job summary

Elsevier seeks an accomplished security leader to head the Business Information Security Office and own cyber risk for the organization. You will build and guide BISOs across business units, setting standards, budgets, and performance expectations while partnering with executives on risk posture and delivery.

You will drive risk identification, assessment, and treatment, ensuring security is embedded in strategy and product development at scale, reporting results to leadership.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in IT security and cyber risk leadership.
• Proven ability to build and scale security teams across units.
• Experience owning cyber risk frameworks and risk treatment plans.
• Ability to set strategy and manage budgets/headcount at scale.

Responsibilities

• Lead the enterprise BISO function and cyber risk management program.
• Embed security into strategy, planning, and product development across units.
• Oversee risk assessments, threat modeling, and remediation priorities.
• Provide executive-level risk reporting and governance for leadership.
