Job summary

Merck & Co. in Rahway, NJ is seeking a senior statistical scientist to provide program-level safety analysis for clinical development. You will work with cross-functional teams to plan and execute safety evaluations and develop methods and tools for ongoing assessment.

The role requires a PhD or equivalent in statistics/biostatistics (or master's with experience) and strong skills in SAS and R; familiarity with Bayesian methods and CDISC data standards is a plus.

Qualifications

• Solid understanding of study design and statistical analysis methods.
• Experience with survival analysis, meta-analysis, and Bayesian methodologies.
• Proficiency in SAS and R (R-Shiny a plus).
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide statistical support for program-level evaluation of clinical safety data.
• Interact with cross-functional safety teams on planning and execution of safety evaluations.
• Design, develop and apply safety evaluation methods, processes, standards, and tools.
• Prepare oral or written reports to communicate results of safety evaluations.
• Assess need for development of novel statistical methodology and evaluate software for analyses.
• Conduct research on innovative statistical methods for clinical safety evaluation.
