Job summary

Baptist Health in Kentucky is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician III for full-time days to install, test, repair, maintain and calibrate clinical devices. You will ensure compliance with hospital policies and safety standards while supporting department objectives and quality initiatives.

Major duties include preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, schematics reading, asset management, and mentoring junior BMETs.

Qualifications

• Associates of Applied Science Degree in Electronic Engineering / Biomedical (BMET) / Information Technology.
• 8 years biomedical experience in lieu of Associate Degree; Military Electronics / Military Biomedical Experience in lieu of Associate Degree can substitute.
• Masters Engineering Degree can be substituted for 6 years work experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on hospital equipment through work orders daily.
• Demonstrates knowledge of safe and approved troubleshooting techniques on medical devices.
• Reads schematics and service manuals, consults with vendors and service representatives to assist in troubleshooting.
• Utilizes basic test equipment and completes repairs in a time and cost-effective manner with patient safety as the primary concern.
• Assemble, install, and set up limited range of hospital equipment.
• Perform the initial acceptance of the new equipment and add assets into database.
• Performs PM interval for equipment and conducts electrical safety and basic performance check.
• Mentoring BMET I and BMET II.
• Files copy of purchase order and vendor information and length of warranty for reference.
• Order necessary parts and maintain required par levels.
