Job summary

Nemours Children's Health in Wilmington, DE is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician III to join our team. The role focuses on expert level troubleshooting, inspection, repair, maintenance, and calibration of a wide range of clinical equipment across multiple modalities.

The BMET III will mentor BMET I and II, participate in on-call rotation, and ensure regulatory compliance while maintaining detailed equipment records.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; Associate’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of expert level preventive and corrective maintenance experience.
• Experience with multiple high-risk modalities required.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert level technical support for medical equipment used in direct patient care.
• Inspect, maintain, repair, and calibrate a comprehensive range of clinical equipment, devices, systems and instruments.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards.
• Interact with clinical health providers to resolve technology-based issues.
• Address customer service concerns and complaints.
• Prepare required documentation and reports.
• Demonstrate safety-focused approach to tasks.
• Manage parts procurement and vendor services.
• Schedule and coordinate vendor services.
• Guide clinical staff in proper operation of equipment.
• Participate in on-call rotation for equipment support.
• Document work and maintain equipment records.
• Plan service and maintenance duties.
• Support vendors during repairs and preventive maintenance.
• Mentor BMET I and II.
• Lead major repairs and complex troubleshooting for high-risk devices.
• Develop maintenance strategies for critical equipment.
