Job summary

Atlantic Health System in Morristown, NJ seeks a BMET III to perform field service across North Central and Northern NJ locations. This role requires advanced healthcare technology expertise with minimal supervision and the ability to train BMET 2/1 staff and interns.

You will lead equipment maintenance, repair and calibration of complex devices, oversee documentation, interface with clinical network components, and coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and on-call duties.

Qualifications

• Advanced skill set in healthcare technology with minimal supervision.
• Experience in BMET lead capacity and training of BMET 1/2 staff and interns.
• Understanding of medical equipment systems and devices.
• Knowledge of medical PCs, peripherals, clinical network applications, and related terminology.
• Ability to follow manufacturer procedures for preventive maintenance, safety inspections, and verification procedures.
• Repair, installation, and calibration of complex medical equipment.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and outside service technicians.
• Maintain and develop biomedical expertise through ongoing training.
• Familiarity with Joint Commission, NFPA, and other regulatory standards.
• Prepare for 24-hour on-call repair responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance inspections and verifications on medical equipment across multiple sites.
• Repair, install, and calibrate complex equipment with minimal supervision.
• Lead and mentor BMET 1/2 staff and interns, and coordinate with vendors.
• Document service history, maintenance, and equipment database updates.
• Assist with special projects and manage on-call duties.
• Maintain knowledge of clinical equipment systems and regulatory standards.
