Job summary

Merck & Co. invites applications for the Senior Scientist, Biomarker Operations Project Management role.

This position plans and executes clinical-trial biomarkers, ensuring compliant biospecimen collection, assay execution, and data delivery while partnering with biomarker scientists to support fast-paced studies. You will coordinate sample handling, shipping, storage, and processing; develop vendor statements of work; and align workflows with data management to deliver high-quality biomarker

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience; master’s or higher with 3+ years preferred.
Experience in drug discovery or clinical research and fast-paced environments.
Strong written and verbal communication in a matrixed setting.

Responsibilities

Plan clinical-trial biomarker setup and logistics with study teams.
Serve as operational partner to Biomarker Leads; help implement strategies.
Co-author biomarker sections of clinical study protocols.
Define specimen collection, handling, shipping, storage, and processing.
Develop biomarker vendor statements of work and data-transfer specs.
Coordinate sample and assay logistics with clinical teams and labs.
Transfer biomarker data from external vendors into the clinical data repository.
Design sample collection kits and lab manuals with labs.
