Job summary

DeWinter Group is seeking a Senior Billing & Revenue Accountant to oversee complex billing operations in a fast-paced SaaS environment. This fully remote role emphasizes accuracy, contract interpretation, and cross‑department collaboration to maintain financial integrity and smooth revenue recognition.

You will own end-to-end invoicing, apply terms to pricing and renewals, support month‑end close, and help drive automation and reporting improvements across NetSuite, Zuora, and Excel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 5+ years’ hands-on billing experience in a SaaS or subscription environment.
• Strong proficiency with NetSuite; Zuora experience preferred.
• Intermediate Excel skills: formulas, pivot tables, lookups.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities independently.

Responsibilities

• Execute end-to-end billing processes, preparing and reviewing invoices across a comprehensive product catalog.
• Interpret and apply contractual billing terms, including pricing, renewal, and usage-based adjustments.
• Manage frequent billing modifications and contract amendments, maintaining documentation and system updates.
• Investigate billing discrepancies and coordinate corrective actions such as credits and adjustments.
• Serve as primary contact for customer inquiries related to billing and contract terms.
• Support month-end close activities with relevant schedules and reconciliations.
• Ensure tax filings across multiple U.S. states and maintain accurate billing records.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and reporting enhancements in NetSuite, Zuora, and Excel.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Minimum of five years’ hands-on billing experience in a SaaS or subscription-based environment.
• Strong proficiency with NetSuite; experience with Zuora is highly preferred.
• In-depth understanding of complex billing arrangements, contractual translation, and accounting impacts.
• Intermediate Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and lookup functions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to explain complex billing issues clearly.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities independently.

Nice to Have Skills:

• Experience with Zuora or similar billing platforms.
• Knowledge of sales tax compliance in multiple U.S. states.
• Exposure to revenue recognition processes.
• Familiarity with related systems such as Salesforce or other AR automation tools.

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Degree in Accounting or Finance.
• At least five years of relevant billing experience within a SaaS or similar subscription business.
