Responsibilities

Highlights of Responsibilities:

As a Senior Billing Analyst, you will be responsible for the full cycle of Accounts Receivable activities. You will serve as a member of the overall program administration team to help ensure timely and accurate billing, and to track receivable status and help clear aged balances. In assuming this position, you will be a critical contributor to meeting Empower AI's mission: To deliver innovative, cost-effective solutions and services that enable our customers to rapidly adapt to dynamic environments.

  • Supervises the preparation of bills and invoices, the calculation of sales and charge slips, and verification of billing with accounts receivable ledger.
  • Serves as client liaison related to collections and billing questions.
  • Performs functions associated with contract close-outs.
  • Prepares files for record retention, file maintenance, file conversion, transfer of records, physical file storage management, and document destruction.
  • Prepares correspondence to Closeout Specialists, draft closeout reports, draft closeout tracking documentation, etc.
  • Verifies that all invoices have been submitted and paid before closing an order.
  • Obtains concurrences for closeout from the COR and vendor; drafts modifications for the Contracting Officer's approval and signature to de-obligate excess funds.
  • Enters correct information into internal and external financial and business management systems and applications (i.e., WAWF/IRAP, IPP, etc.) to ensure proper closeout of orders.
  • Prepares input for all Corporate financial budget submissions and projections including the annual budget, mid-year forecast, rolling forecasts, estimates at completion (EACs), and capital budgets.
  • Sets up, maintains, and processes changes in information systems to support accurate and efficient billing.
  • Escalates potential or realized operational and/or financial risk areas to management as appropriate.
  • Supports preparation of cost proposals for contract change orders, extensions, sole-source follow-ons, and IDIQ noncompetitive task orders.
  • Communicates with customer personnel for questions, corrections, and payment information.
  • Supports weekly cash forecast process through analysis and communication of latest projections.
  • Participates in monthly aging reviews with accounting & project finance staff.
  • Maintains proper documentation of invoices and supporting documents for audit and quality control purposes.
Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Associate's Degree or equivalent related experience.
  • 7-12 years of experience.

Preferred:

  • Invoicing experience with a government contractor: 2-5 years.
  • Experience with Unanet is a major plus but not required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field preferred.

Physical Requirements:

This position requires the ability to perform the following essential functions:
