Job summary

Nyla Technology Solutions seeks a hands-on Software Engineer specializing in distributed big data infrastructure to join our team in Annapolis Junction, MD. You will design and sustain processing-heavy analytics, Map/Reduce engines, and Accumulo datastores, while actively deploying and troubleshooting cluster operations using Java, Ansible, and Kubernetes.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in CS/CE/SE or related field, plus 7+ years of software engineering experience, or Master’s with 5+ years of specialty software eng.
High School Diploma/GED with 11+ years hands-on software development and big data administration experience.
Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.

Responsibilities

Design, enhance, and sustain processing-intensive data analytics, Map/Reduce engines, and Accumulo datastores for massive datasets.
Deploy, configure, and troubleshoot Hadoop, Map/Reduce, Accumulo, and ZooKeeper infrastructure; manage cluster operations.
Develop with Java, Ansible automation, and Kubernetes to support Data Warehouse architectures and processing pipelines.
Troubleshoot real-world cluster issues such as offlining bad HDFS nodes or degraded tservers.
