Job summary

A leading IT consulting firm is seeking an experienced Big Data Architect and IT Consultant to design and implement a Big Data solution for the District of Columbia government. This role involves supporting enterprise data operations, including IoT projects and data analysis. Ideal candidates will have extensive experience with platforms such as Databricks and Azure, as well as significant expertise in data-centric systems. Compensation ranges from $79.00 to $88.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience implementing modern Big Data platforms.
• 5+ years knowledge of Big Data and Data Architecture best practices.
• 5+ years experience on Microsoft Azure networking and security.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates IT project management, engineering, maintenance, QA, and risk management.
• Plans, coordinates, and monitors project activities.
• Develops technical applications to support users.

Skills

Experience implementing modern Big Data storage and analytics platforms such as Databricks and Data Lakes

Knowledge of modern Big Data and Data Architecture and Implementation best practices

Knowledge of architecture and implementation of networking, security and storage on Microsoft Azure

Experience with deployment of data tools on cloud platforms

Knowledge of Data-centric systems like Tableau, MicroStrategy

Experience querying structured and unstructured data sources

Experience modeling and ingesting data into various systems

Experience with API / Web Services (REST/SOAP)

Experience with complex event processing and real-time streaming data

Experience with data science tools and modules such as JupyterHub

Experience with ETL, data processing using Python, Java or R

Databricks Certified Data Engineer Professional

Experience with Cloudera Data Platform

Years planning, coordinating, and monitoring project activities

Years leading projects ensuring compliance with standards
