Job summary

An IT consulting firm is looking for an experienced Big Data Architect IT Consultant in Washington, DC. You will support the design and development of a Big Data solution for government operations, collaborating with a senior data team on tools like Databricks and applications including IoT projects. Candidates should have extensive experience in Big Data platforms, cloud implementation, and advanced data analytics techniques. Compensation ranges from $79 to $88 per hour.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience implementing modern Big Data storage and analytics platforms is required.
• 5 years of knowledge of modern Big Data and Data Architecture and Implementation best practices.
• 5 years of experience with networking, security and storage implementation on Microsoft Azure.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate IT project management, engineering, maintenance, QA, and risk management.
• Plan, coordinate, and monitor project activities.
• Develop technical applications to support users.

Skills

Experience implementing modern Big Data storage and analytics platforms such as Databricks and Data Lakes

Knowledge of modern Big Data and Data Architecture and Implementation best practices

Knowledge of architecture and implementation of networking, security and storage on cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure

Experience with deployment of data tools and storage on cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure

Knowledge of Data-centric systems for the analysis and visualization of data, such as Tableau, MicroStrategy, ArcGIS, Kibana, Oracle

Experience querying structured and unstructured data sources including SQL and NoSQL databases

Experience modeling and ingesting data into and between various data systems through the use of Data Pipelines

Experience with API / Web Services (REST/SOAP)

Experience with complex event processing and real-time streaming data

Experience with deployment and management of data science tools and modules such as JupyterHub

Experience with ETL, data processing, analytics using languages such as Python, Java or R

Databricks Certified Data Engineer Professional

Experience with Cloudera Data Platform

Education

Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field or equivalent experience
