Ideal candidates bring 15+ years in software engineering with 5+ years in architect roles, strong leadership, and deep expertise in SDLC, DevOps, and CI/CD practices. This role is on-site in NYC with an extended contract potential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in CS, Engineering, or related quantitative field.
• 15+ years of software engineering with at least 5+ years in a Technical Architect/Lead Data Engineer role focused on data quality/governance.
• Expert-level Spark experience with Spark SQL, DataFrames/Datasets, streaming, and performance tuning.
• Experience with Hadoop/HDFS, S3, Delta Lake, Iceberg or similar data lake tech.
• Streaming tech such as Kafka or Kinesis; cloud data platforms on AWS/Azure/GCP.
• Advanced SQL and Python for data engineering; data automation and QA.
• Proven ability to lead teams, SDLC/DevOps integration, and communicate with senior leadership.
