WHIZZ, a leading provider of cutting-edge transportation solutions for delivery riders, is currently seeking an experienced eBike Mechanic to join our dynamic team in Washington D.C.. As an eBike Mechanic at WHIZZ, you will be responsible for the assembly, maintenance, and repair of our eBike fleet. This is a part-time position that requires on-site work at our Washington D.C. location.

Responsibilities:

1. Vehicle & Bicycle Maintenance and Repairs
2. Perform regular maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on Whizz’s vehicle fleet, including mechanical and electronic components. Inspect and repair key components such as brakes, gears, batteries, and electrical systems to ensure optimal functionality. Conduct pre-rental quality checks and maintain detailed service records.
3. Inventory & Fleet Management
4. Maintain accurate inventory levels of products, accessories, and repair parts. Organize and track the availability of bikes, ensuring timely stock replenishment and fleet readiness. Prepare vehicles for shipment and delivery to Whizz locations and partners.
5. Customer Service & Sales
6. Assist new customers with onboarding, bike selection, and feature explanations. Process payments, manage ERP accounts, and promote loyalty programs. Support existing customers with repairs, service updates, and account resolutions.
7. Team Leadership & Training
8. Supervise store staff, including mechanics and customer service representatives, ensuring efficiency and adherence to company standards. Provide training on repair techniques, safety protocols, and customer service best practices. Oversee schedules, attendance, and task delegation to maintain smooth daily operations.
9. Policy & Safety Compliance
10. Ensure adherence to company policies, dress code, and safety procedures. Follow and enforce health and environmental regulations to maintain a safe work environment. Manage bike key distribution and maintain security to prevent loss or theft.
11. Problem Resolution & Reporting
12. Address operational challenges, customer concerns, and policy violations, escalating issues when necessary. Prepare reports on sales, inventory, and service metrics for leadership review. Oversee promotional events, store activities, and ensure proper documentation.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience as an eBike Mechanic or Bicycle Mechanic
• Strong knowledge of eBike assembly, maintenance, and repair
• Ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
• Problem-solving abilities and good diagnostic skills
• Availability to work part-time hours on-site in DC
