Job summary

Johns Hopkins University IT@JH Univ Data Analytics & Engineering seeks a BI Administrator to lead the administration, reliability, and governance of enterprise BI platforms, including Tableau Cloud, Power BI, and Fabric. You will ensure secure, scalable operations and partner with stakeholders across IT to implement standards.

The role covers day‑to‑day ops, incident response, governance, licensing, cost recovery, and end-user communications, delivering stable BI services for a broad campus

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree.
• Six years of related experience.
• Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond a high school diploma/graduation equivalent, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

Responsibilities

• Administer BI platform environments, including configuration, operational health monitoring, and production support across Tableau Cloud, Power BI, and Fabric as adopted.
• Coordinate and support hybrid connectivity components required by the platforms (gateways/bridges) with central server management and infrastructure teams; ensure operational runbooks and telemetry are maintained.
• Provide Tier 2/3 support for platform‑level issues and coordinate escalations with vendor support (e.g., Microsoft support for Power BI).
• Implement and operationalize BI platform governance guardrails and participate in governance forums to review/approve changes.
• Develop and maintain technical and end‑user‑facing content and leverage collaboration channels to promote consistent practices among distributed site administrators and the broader user community.
• Coordinate license administration, usage reporting, and cost recovery activities with finance and related service owners; support vendor relationship motions and escalation pathways.
