Job summary

Ariel Partners in New York City seeks an experienced BI Leader/Developer to design and maintain enterprise BI solutions for the NYC DOE projects. You will create dashboards, ad hoc and regulatory reports, and optimize data models to support executive and operational decision-making.

The role requires 8+ years in BI with strong SQL Server and BI tool experience, plus the ability to lead multiple reporting initiatives and mentor a team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IS/Data Analytics or related field (Master's preferred).
• 8+ years of enterprise BI and reporting experience.
• 5+ years designing executive dashboards and data visualization solutions.
• Strong SQL Server experience (T‑SQL, stored procedures, views, tuning).
• Experience with BI tools (Power BI, SSRS, Tableau).
• Data modeling and data warehouse concepts experience.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Experience gathering reporting requirements from stakeholders.
• Knowledge of SDLC, Agile and Waterfall methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, deployment, and maintenance of BI solutions.
• Create interactive dashboards, scorecards, and data visualizations for leadership.
• Develop ad hoc, analytical, and regulatory reports.
• Design and optimize SQL queries and data models.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Develop and maintain semantic data models, metadata, and standards.
• Ensure reporting data accuracy, integrity, security, and quality.
• Lead and mentor BI development staff.
• Collaborate with PMs, BAs, data architects, and ETL developers.
