Job summary

SmartLight Analytics seeks a senior BI/Analytics Engineer to migrate from SQL Server to Snowflake, building governed data marts and decision-ready Sigma dashboards. You will reverse-engineer legacy code, preserve and improve business logic, and lead platform migration with a strong focus on data governance and scalability.

Qualifications

• Senior-level experience as a BI Developer, Analytics Engineer, or equivalent, delivering production data marts and reporting.
• Strong SQL expertise, including reading, deconstructing, and refactoring complex legacy SQL Server code.
• Hands-on experience building data models and marts in Snowflake (or comparable cloud data warehouse).
• Proficiency building dashboards and reports in Sigma (or similar BI tool).
• Knowledge of dimensional/data modeling and semantic-layer design.
• Ability to translate ambiguous business requirements into finished, self-explanatory reporting.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain governed data marts in Snowflake serving as the single source of truth for reporting.
• Develop, publish, and maintain dashboards and reports in Sigma for decision-ready insights.
• Reverse-engineer legacy SQL Server logic and translate it into Snowflake models as part of platform migration.
• Partner with business SMEs to capture reporting requirements and own delivery end-to-end.
• Establish consistent definitions and metric logic to ensure numbers reconcile across the org.
• Apply data modeling best practices to ensure performance and maintainability.
