Job summary

Cherry Bekaert delivers advisory, assurance and tax services and is seeking a Senior BI Developer to lead BI analytics development. You will build dashboards in Power BI, work across source systems and partner with business teams to deliver high quality insights.

Role requires 5+ years of experience, DA-100, and strong communication. You will collaborate with DBAs to support the data warehouse and ensure governance and security compliance across analytics solutions.

Qualifications

• Microsoft DA-100: Data Analyst Associate or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Create best in class analytics dashboards primarily using Power BI against various source systems.
• Design effective charts and visualizations to drive informed decisions.
• Translate key metrics with business partners into high quality analytics solutions.
• Introduce new tools, technologies, and best practices for data integration and governance.
• Collaborate with DBA and Data Integration Specialist to support data warehouse needs.
• Work with SMEs to ensure data governance and proper data elements.
• Ensure BI solutions comply with security, privacy and risk policies.

The Senior BI Developer will help drive the plan, model, build, and management of our BI and analytics solutions for the future as we continue to grow. This role will work independently on analytics development, while collaborating with peers and business partners to design best in class reporting solutions.

As Senior BI Developer, you will:

• Utilize skills and knowledge to create best in class analytics dashboards primarily using Microsoft Power BI against a variety of source systems.

• Strong understanding of, and experience building, effective charts and visualizations. Ability to design impactful dashboards aimed at displaying large amounts of data in a way to drive better, more informed decisions for the firm

• Work directly with our business partners to identify, understand, and translate key metrics into high quality analytics solutions designed to enhance and improve critical business processes.

• Champion the introduction of new tools, technologies, and best practices for integration, master data management, maintenance, testing, deployment, reporting & analytics.

• Partner with our DBA and Data Integration Specialist to ensure the enterprise data warehouse is built to best support reporting and analytics requirements, both now and for future capabilities.

• Work with subject matter experts to build solutions using approved calculations and data elements, emphasizing proper data governance.

• Ensure all BI solutions are designed and built to comply with, and always, adhere to Cherry Bekaert security, data privacy and other risk & compliance policies, procedures and controls.

What you bring to the role:

• 5+ years of experience.

• High School Diploma

• Microsoft DA-100: Data Analyst Associate or equivalent

• Good communication skills, with experience gathering requirements directly from users

• Strong project and time management skills

• Passion for continued learning and drive for results

• Working with enterprise-wide reporting and analytics solutions

• Experience using Power BI

• Experience with SQL/SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS)
