RWE Americas, LLC is seeking an experienced BESS Operations Engineer to act as the key analyst, reviewer, and SME for the Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) fleet. The role involves identifying root causes, evaluating improvements, and guiding projects from opportunity to completion.

You will work with field staff, asset managers, and operations teams to improve plant energy yield, reliability, and safety, including leading annual capacity tests and design solutions for rapid return to service.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Industrial/Civil engineering or equivalent experience.
• E.I.T. certification preferred; PE certification a plus.
• Minimum 7 years in electrical operations, asset management, or design.

Aufgaben

• Review and analyze faults, downtime, and cost implications with focus on safety and budgets.
• Coordinate data collection across teams to meet availability, SOC, ramp rates, and throughput metrics.
• Track warranty requirements and understand OEM differences.
• Analyze portfolio with data analysts to identify upgrades and improve output and safety.
• Perform RCA of failure modes and propose improvements for reliability and production.
• Engage with site operations, external vendors, and manufacturers to implement designs and procedures.
• Travel to sites to assess equipment conditions and provide feedback.
