Job summary

Monterey County Health Department is seeking a Behavioral Health Unit Supervisor (BHUS) to oversee a multidisciplinary team delivering outpatient mental health services across the Adult System of Care, Children and Youth programs, and other divisions. The role emphasizes clinical supervision, collaboration with medical providers, and program leadership within a wellness-oriented, client-centered framework.

Qualifications

• Current California licensure in a relevant behavioral health field (LCSW/LMFT/LPCC/PhD/PsyD/MD)
• Ability to supervise clinical staff and review caseloads
• Strong documentation, reporting and compliance with regulations

Responsibilities

• Provide daily clinical oversight of a multidisciplinary team
• Supervise and mentor staff; review cases and progress
• Coordinate with hospitals, community agencies and other health providers
• Ensure regulatory compliance and quality of care; monitor service delivery
• Maintain records and prepare routine reports and correspondence
• Facilitate staff development and program planning
• Possibly provide direct clinical services in specified programs
