As a Senior Care Advocate, you will focus on care coordination and all levels of care authorizations for psychiatric and chemical dependency patients and assist teams with data entry and questions. You'll have a direct impact on the lives of our members as you facilitate care coordination services and assist in the management of authorizations for appropriate levels of care throughout the entire treatment plan.

The business hours for this position are between 8:00–5:00PM PST. Position will require flexibility with starting and ending times based on supporting business needs as well as holiday-coverage on a rotating basis.

If you are located in WA, you will have the flexibility to work remotely as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Support WA Medicaid and DSNP market as dictated by business needs, supporting case management and utilization management processes.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in care management, understanding policies, procedures, and cross-team collaboration for WA Medicaid and DSNP member enrollment.
  • Have 2+ years of experience in Community Care, including documentation, treatment plan development, and quality monitoring.
  • Provide routine support and guidance to staff on case management and utilization management questions and procedures.
  • Assist with member interactions, escalations, crisis interventions, and safety planning as backup support.
  • Coordinate orientation and training activities, providing ongoing coaching and training to team members.
  • Conduct quality audits and review key metrics with the team, providing feedback for performance improvement.
  • Participate in community partner meetings, representing member needs and identifying care gaps.
  • Assist with special projects, committee work, and other duties as assigned.
  • Support case management and utilization management caseloads as needed to ensure operational readiness.
  • Review patient assessments, determine appropriate levels of care, and coordinate benefits and transitions.
  • Identify opportunities to add value to treatment plans and organizational initiatives.
  • Oversee care experiences in facility-based and community-based settings.
Required Qualifications
  • Licensed master’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, marriage or family therapy, or an RN with 2+ years of behavioral health experience.
  • Active, unrestricted clinical license permitting independent practice.
  • Residency and licensure in Washington.
  • 3+ years of experience in a mental health environment, including case management within a managed care organization.
  • Experience with case management, utilization review, and training new staff.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Subject matter expertise in care management processes and procedures.
  • Ability to meet performance productivity metrics and multitask across systems.
  • Reliable high-speed internet and a dedicated, distraction-free workspace at home.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Nursing license (for RNs).
  • Experience with dual diagnosis and managing mental health and substance use cases.
  • Experience coordinating services across multiple lines of business (Medicare, Medicaid, commercial).
  • Familiarity with DSM and treatment standards.
  • Strong intervention skills for difficult callers, maintaining professionalism and integrity.
  • Ability to maintain comprehensive electronic records.

The salary range for this role is $71,600 to $140,600 annually, based on full-time employment and various factors including location, experience, and certifications. Benefits include comprehensive packages, incentive programs, stock purchase options, and 401k contributions.
