Job summary

Southwest Autism Research and Resource Center in Phoenix, AZ, is seeking a Senior Behavior Specialist to provide direct treatment services across ages and collaborate within multiple client service teams. This role emphasizes timely, high-quality treatment and accurate documentation.

The candidate will work with clinical supervisors to refine treatment plans, coordinate with internal clinicians, and train staff for RBT credentialing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required; psychology or related fields preferred.
• RBT certification required within 30 days of employment.
• Over 2,400 direct treatment hours of clinical experience required.
• 3–6 years in a clinical environment; ASD experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Comply fully with all medical records and information privacy regulations, local, state, and federal.
• Provide input, observations, and feedback to Clinical Supervisors regarding client treatment plans, programming, data, and progress.
• Provide highly effective and best‑practice treatment for clients face‑to‑face and assist other clinical staff in delivering on this objective.
• Coordinate with other internal clinical professionals in the best interests of clients and their families, recommending treatment plan improvements as necessary based on client progress.
• Conduct overlap training and competency assessments for initial and renewal Registered Behavior Technician credentialing of Behavior Therapists, as applicable.
• Properly document all work activities, session notes, and treatment service results on a fully accurate and timely basis.
• Provide client treatments using varying treatment models with minimal oversight, frequently with clients who have not met previously.

Position Summary

Provides direct treatment services for clients across a broad age range while also providing client services and treatments within multiple client service teams and programs. Responsible for ensuring that all critical tasks are fulfilled on a timely and high‑quality basis.

Who You Are

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university required. Focus areas of education, sociology, special education or psychology preferred.
• Registered Behavior Technician certification is required.
• In excess of 2,400 direct treatment hours of clinical experience is required.
• 3 to 6 years of employment in a clinical environment on a full‑time, part‑time and/or work‑study basis is required, preferably including recent work with individuals with ASD.
• Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst licensure is preferred.

Hours, Pay and Benefits

Hours: Full‑time

Starting Salary: $55,000 per year

RBT Certification Requirement

Registered Behavior Technician certification is required within 30 days of employment.

Transportation Requirement

Behavior staff are required to have reliable transportation to/from clients with a clean driving record (no more than 3 minor violations).
