Job description

Auria is looking to hire a Senior Business Development Lead IC & Defense to support the Auria's Growth Organization. This role is a Remote position.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO DO:

Business Development and Market Growth

  • Lead business development activities across Intelligence Community and DoD customers, with emphasis on the NRO, NSA, CIA, DIA, DoD, and related space, communications, and mission operations organizations.

  • Identify, qualify, and shape new opportunities aligned to Auria's hardware, software, and integrated mission solution capabilities.

  • Develop and execute account growth plans for priority customers, including customer call plans, opportunity roadmaps, partner strategies, and near-, mid-, and long-term pipeline objectives.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with senior government customers, mission users, acquisition officials, technical stakeholders, prime contractors, and industry partners.

  • Create demand for Auria solutions by connecting customer mission needs with Auria capabilities in space systems, ground systems, communications, edge processing, C2, cyber, and mission software.

  • Support expansion into new accounts, new mission areas, and adjacent markets where Auria's product and engineering capabilities can create differentiated value.

Hardware, Product, and Solution Portfolio Growth

  • Drive growth of Auria's product and technology portfolio involving radios, software-defined radios, digital ground stations, SATCOM modems, software-defined modems, edge sensors, communications systems, mission applications, and C2 solutions.

  • Work closely with technical leadership, product teams, engineering, and business unit leaders to translate customer needs into product roadmap inputs, solution concepts, investment priorities, and go-to-market strategies.

  • Assess market demand and competitive positioning for Auria products and integrated solutions across IC and DoD mission environments.

  • Identify opportunities to transition prototypes, IRAD efforts, commercial technologies, and existing Auria capabilities into funded programs, pilots, demonstrations, and production opportunities.

  • Help define repeatable solution offerings that combine hardware, software, mission integration, and sustainment into scalable product-led growth paths.

Capture and Opportunity Leadership

  • Lead and support capture efforts for selected strategic opportunities from early identification through proposal submission, award, and transition to execution.

  • Develop capture strategies, win themes, competitive assessments, teaming approaches, customer engagement plans, and price-to-win inputs.

  • Shape opportunities early by influencing requirements, acquisition approaches, evaluation criteria, and customer understanding of Auria's technical discriminators.

  • Support bid/no-bid decisions, gate reviews, black hats, solution reviews, proposal strategy sessions, and executive leadership briefings.

  • Work with proposal teams to ensure customer intelligence, win themes, solution differentiators, and competitive positioning are reflected in proposal volumes.

  • Support responses to RFIs, market surveys, white papers, technical exchanges, OTAs, CSOs, BAAs, IDIQ task orders, and traditional RFPs.

Customer and Industry Engagement

  • Represent Auria in meetings with government customers, mission partners, prime contractors, technology providers, and industry organizations.

  • Develop strategic partnerships that improve Auria's ability to deliver integrated mission solutions involving communications, ground systems, edge processing, sensors, and C2.

  • Maintain awareness of IC and DoD budgets, acquisition timelines, mission priorities, procurement vehicles, technology gaps, and competitive dynamics.

  • Identify where Auria should lead as prime, where Auria should team as a strategic subcontractor, and where Auria should position its products through partner channels.

  • Provide regular market intelligence to Auria leadership on customer priorities, competitor activity, procurement trends, and emerging mission needs.

WHAT THE TEAM REQUIRES:

  • U.S. citizenship is required.

  • Active TS/SCI clearance is required.

  • 10+ years of experience in business development, capture, account management, program management, mission operations, acquisition, engineering, or related national security roles.

  • Demonstrated customer relationships and business development experience across the Intelligence Community and/or DoD, preferably including one or more of the following: NRO, NSA, CIA, DIA, USSF, SSC, SDA, Army, Air Force, or other national security space, cyber, or communications organizations.

  • Experience growing business involving hardware, product, or integrated technology solutions, not solely services-based contracts.

  • Demonstrated ability to identify, qualify, shape, and capture opportunities in complex federal markets.

  • Experience developing customer call plans, account strategies, opportunity pipelines, capture plans, teaming strategies, and executive pursuit recommendations.

  • Familiarity with federal acquisition approaches including FAR-based procurements, OTAs, CSOs, BAAs, IDIQ task orders, and rapid prototyping pathways.

  • Strong verbal, written, and executive briefing skills.

  • Ability to operate independently while coordinating effectively across growth, engineering, product, program, proposal, contracts, and executive teams.

  • Mission-Driven Professional: Collaborative contributor motivated by the opportunity to develop cutting-edge solutions that protect and serve both the nation and the world.

Required Technology and Mission Experience

WHAT THE TEAM PREFERS:

  • Experience selling or positioning product-based solutions into IC or DoD customers.

  • Experience with satellite communications, tactical communications, ground systems, resilient networks, edge compute, sensor integration, or mission C2 architectures.

  • Prior experience working with or for a defense technology company, national security space company, hardware provider, software-defined communications company, or intelligence mission integrator.

  • Experience helping transition technologies from prototype or demonstration into funded production or operational programs.

  • Experience supporting both prime and subcontractor growth strategies.

  • Understanding of product-led growth in government markets, including licensing, hardware sales, recurring software, sustainment, and mission integration models.

  • Experience with Shipley, Lohfeld, or other capture and proposal methodologies.

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, national security, computer science, or related discipline; master's degree preferred.
