Job summary

Hardware FYI is seeking a Senior Test Engineer to lead the battery test lab and coordinate cross-functional activities with R&D, Manufacturing, Data Systems, and Facilities. You will specify and commission new equipment, build automated data pipelines, and manage test resources including cyclers, environmental chambers, and mechanical testers, while guiding a team of technicians.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or a related technical field.
• Demonstrated experience using battery cyclers (Landt, Neware, MACCOR, Arbin, etc).
• Proven ability to manage sensitive, high-value equipment in an industrial setting.
• Experience managing multi-stakeholder projects in an R&D setting.
• Familiarity with python, JMP, SQL, and computer networking principles to manage data pipelines and analysis.
• Proficiency with project management and collaboration tools (e.g., Asana, Notion, Trello).
• Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage all operations within the battery test lab.
• Work closely with Data Systems team to improve data accessibility.
• Install, calibrate, and troubleshoot battery cycling equipment per ISO 9001 standards.
• Collaborate to create custom test solutions, metrology techniques and reliability test methods.
• Oversee battery test protocol development and approval process.
• Promote a safe, collaborative and inclusive team culture with ownership and technical rigor.
