Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is hiring a Senior Battery Systems Engineer to lead the architecture, integration, and validation of battery systems for wearable products. You will work at the intersection of cell chemistry, pack design, EE, ME, firmware, and manufacturing to deliver safe, high-performing solutions.

You will own subsystem architecture, develop verification plans, and lead root-cause analyses while collaborating with multiple teams and suppliers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field with 4+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong understanding of lithium-ion chemistry and battery pack behavior.
• Hands-on experience testing battery packs and electrical systems.
• Experience with charging circuits, fuel gauging, and BMS integration.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and communicate risks clearly.
• Familiarity with DFMEAs, DOE, and reliability engineering methods.

Responsibilities

• Own battery subsystem architecture from concept to mass production.
• Collaborate with Product, Cell Engineering, Electrical, Mechanical, and Firmware teams.
• Lead integration of charging, fuel gauging, protection, and thermal systems.
• Develop verification and qualification plans, including life testing and DFMEAs.
• Lead root-cause investigations using data, telemetry, and trends.
• Coordinate with Quality, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and suppliers; travel up to 15%.
