Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience designing battery structures, joining parts, component manufacturing, and assembly processes
  • 5+ years of experience using 3D CAD software, proficiency with CATIA V6 (3DX)
  • Experience solving open-ended engineering problems
  • Knowledge of vehicle attributes related to high-voltage battery design, safety, durability
  • Strong technical knowledge of automotive systems, materials, and manufacturing processes
  • Understanding of Vehicle Crash and Homologation requirements
  • Effective planning skills for internal and external stakeholders
  • Detail-oriented with effective documentation and reporting skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment managing multiple tasks
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines with strong follow-through
  • Experience developing timing plans, financial evaluations, and product costing techniques
  • Ability to recognize and manage design risks with solutions
  • Independent and collaborative work skills within a diverse global team
  • Aptitude to learn and incorporate new technologies

Responsibilities
  • Develop battery structures for future EV platforms, focusing on innovative designs, materials, and manufacturing processes to optimize performance from concept to mass production.
  • Design and refine 3D geometry of battery structures, balancing construction, material, and manufacturing considerations.
  • Work with large assemblies for quick CAE analysis, prototypes, and production refinement.
  • Optimize designs through analytical and physical assessments.
  • Innovate and improve engineering development processes.
  • Architect and develop battery structure architecture from initial concepts to prototype release.
  • Create design solutions and support manufacturing process development to ensure quality and performance.
  • Implement novel construction techniques and drive them to production feasibility.
  • Participate in design reviews, present concepts, and recommend improvements.
  • Collaborate across functions to address technical challenges and meet requirements.
  • Establish and track validation targets and test cases for new product introduction, including crash, abuse, durability, and corrosion testing.
  • Continuously challenge industry and internal standards to raise quality and performance benchmarks.
