Job summary

Panelmatic, Inc. seeks an experienced Base Fabrication Lead to support daily fitting and welding in the Base Fabrication department. You will coordinate activities, assign work, monitor progress, and ensure components meet quality and dimensional requirements.

The role requires strong hands-on metal fabrication and welding skills, blueprint interpretation, and demonstrated leadership. You will actively participate in fabrication while mentoring team members.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in metal fabrication or related manufacturing.
• Experience leading a fabrication team or as a working lead.
• Ability to read blueprints and weld symbols.
• Proficiency with MIG/GMAW, TIG/GTAW, SMAW welding processes preferred.
• Ability to measure and inspect components with basic tools.
• Familiar with OSHA safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily fabrication and welding activities.
• Guide and support fitter/welder fabricators.
• Assign work based on skill and priorities.
• Monitor progress and report status to supervisor.
• Perform hands-on fabrication, welding, fitting and assembly.
• Read blueprints and ensure dimensions meet specifications.
• Inspect completed work for defects and quality.
