Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Senior BAS Project Engineer in Little Rock, AR to design and implement Building Automation Systems for new and retrofit projects. You will develop control strategies, create diagrams and documentation, and support startup and commissioning efforts.

The role requires strong BAS/DDC knowledge, ability to read drawings, and experience with BACnet/Modbus/LonWorks. Office-based with periodic site coordination, travel may be required.

• Assist with system startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, and performance verification
• Coordinate controls integration with HVAC and mechanical systems
• Support project procurement activities and vendor coordination
• Participate in project meetings and maintain client communication
• Contribute to engineering standards and process improvements

What You’ll Do

• Design and engineer Building Automation Systems (BAS/DDC) for new construction and retrofit projects
• Develop sequences of operation, control strategies, and system architectures based on project requirements
• Create control drawings, submittals, installation packages, and as‑built documentation

Qualifications

• Experience designing, engineering, or implementing Building Automation Systems (BAS/DDC)
• Strong understanding of HVAC systems, controls sequences, and building operations
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and controls drawings
• Knowledge of industry communication protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, or LonWorks
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Excellent communication and problem‑solving abilities

Preferred Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline
• Associate degree or technical training combined with relevant controls experience will also be considered
• Experience with BAS platforms such as Tridium Niagara, Johnson Controls, Siemens, Schneider Electric, Honeywell, Automated Logic, Alerton, Distech, or similar systems
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Visio, Microsoft Office, and related engineering software
• Previous experience supporting commercial, healthcare, industrial, education, or mission‑critical facilities

This position is primarily office‑based with occasional travel to project sites for coordination, commissioning support, and customer interaction.
