Jobot in Little Rock, Arkansas is seeking a Senior BAS Project Engineer to design and deliver Building Automation Systems for new construction and retrofit projects. You’ll collaborate with customers, field teams, and vendors to ensure successful project outcomes.

The role is primarily office-based with occasional travel to project sites for coordination, commissioning support, and customer interaction. Strong BAS and HVAC knowledge are essential for project success.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate controls integration with HVAC and mechanical systems.

What You'll Do

• Design and engineer Building Automation Systems (BAS/DDC) for new construction and retrofit projects
• Develop sequences of operation, control strategies, and system architectures based on project requirements
• Create control drawings, submittals, installation packages, and as-built documentation
• Generate bills of material and assist with equipment and controls selection
• Review mechanical and electrical plans to ensure proper integration of control systems
• Provide technical guidance and engineering support to project managers, programmers, and field technicians
• Assist with system startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, and performance verification when needed
• Review equipment submittals and coordinate controls integration with HVAC and mechanical systems
• Support project procurement activities and coordinate with vendors and manufacturers
• Participate in project meetings and maintain communication with customers, contractors, and internal teams
• Contribute to engineering standards, best practices, and continuous process improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• Experience designing, engineering, or implementing Building Automation Systems (BAS/DDC)
• Strong understanding of HVAC systems, controls sequences, and building operations
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and controls drawings
• Knowledge of industry communication protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, or LonWorks
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities

Preferred Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline
• Associate degree or technical training combined with relevant controls experience will also be considered
• Experience with BAS platforms such as Tridium Niagara, Johnson Controls, Siemens, Schneider Electric, Honeywell, Automated Logic, Alerton, Distech, or similar systems
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Visio, Microsoft Office, and related engineering software
• Previous experience supporting commercial, healthcare, industrial, education, or mission-critical facilities
