Job summary

The Florida Bar is seeking a Senior Bar Counsel for the Attorney Assistance Consumer Program in Tallahassee. The role focuses on reviewing complaints against Florida attorneys, conducting preliminary investigations, and guiding matters through the disciplinary process.

You will also serve as a resource on the ACAP Hotline, addressing public inquiries and coordinating with Bar programs. This in-office, full-time position offers comprehensive benefits and PSLF eligibility.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor and in good standing with The Florida Bar
• Knowledge of Florida Bar disciplinary procedures
• Strong legal, analytical, oral and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Review written complaints to determine whether a disciplinary file should be opened
• Conduct preliminary investigations through written communication with complainants and attorneys
• Evaluate complaints to determine if there is enough evidence to forward for further review
• Screen ACAP Hotline inquiries to determine available assistance
• Direct inquiries to appropriate Bar programs or public agencies
• Manage a substantial caseload with accuracy and professionalism
• Perform other duties as assigned
