The Florida Bar seeks a Senior Bar Counsel for the Attorney/Consumer Assistance Program (ACAP) to review complaints against Florida attorneys, conduct preliminary investigations, and decide on disciplinary steps. This in-office role sits in Tallahassee and requires strong legal, analytical, and communication skills.

Ideal candidates will handle a substantial caseload, assist the public via the ACAP Hotline, and travel as necessary. The position emphasizes thoroughness and professional conduct.

Competenze

• Juris Doctor and active Florida Bar membership.
• Three+ years of legal experience for Senior Bar Counsel; at least one year for Bar Counsel.
• Knowledge of the Rules Regulating The Florida Bar.
• Ability to manage a substantial caseload and communicate professionally.

Mansioni

• Review written complaints to determine whether a disciplinary file should be opened.
• Conduct preliminary investigations through written communication with complainants and attorneys.
• Evaluate complaints and supporting information to determine whether there is sufficient evidence to forward a matter for further review.
• Screen telephone inquiries through the ACAP Hotline to determine assistance available.
• Direct appropriate inquiries to other Bar programs, committees, or public agencies.
• Manage a substantial caseload while maintaining accuracy, professionalism, and follow-through.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
