Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer to lead high-performance backend services across GM Commercial Services. You will shape system architecture, APIs, and products for broad stakeholder impact, mentoring engineers and driving best practices in a hybrid work model.

Qualifications

• 5+ years designing and building large engineering projects.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

• 5+years experiencein successfully designing and building large engineering projects, including successfulproductionizationof highly scalable,reliableand performant systems

• Extensive experience in architecture and design (architecture, design patterns,reliabilityand scaling) of new and existing systems.

• Extensive experience in Java / Kotlinor Python

• Experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases

• Experience with at least one of the public cloudprovidersAzure, AWS, GCP.

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in an agile development environment.

• Excellentwritten andverbal communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

Compensation: The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position, as well as geography of the selected candidate.

• The salary range for this role is $153,200 - $269,100. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
• Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
