Job summary

INSPYR Solutions is seeking a Senior Backend Software Development Engineer to join a small, hands-on development team in Redmond, WA. You will own backend development, AWS infrastructure, testing, deployment, and reliability from concept to production.

This onsite role focuses on delivering end-to-end backend features, building AWS infrastructure, and collaborating across agile teams to ensure secure, scalable solutions using Python and JavaScript.

Qualifications

ABOUT THIS FEATURED OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking a Senior Backend Software Development Engineer to join a small, highly hands-on development team building custom applications from proof of concept through production.

This is an end-to-end role for an engineer who enjoys operating with a startup mindset within a larger organization—owning backend development, AWS infrastructure, testing, deployment, and reliability.

THE OPPORTUNITY FOR YOU

• Develop and deliver new backend features end to end, from POC through production-ready applications.
• Build and maintain AWS infrastructure supporting custom applications.
• Develop backend applications primarily in Python and infrastructure/tooling in JavaScript.
• Design reliable communication across AWS services, networks, and accounts.
• Configure IAM roles, permissions, and access controls.
• Build infrastructure with a focus on reliability, maintainability, and scalability.
• Participate in Agile development, security reviews, and architecture reviews.

KEY SUCCESS FACTORS (TOP MUST-HAVE SKILLS)

• AWS / Cloud: Strong hands-on experience building application infrastructure in AWS. Experience with services such as ECR, SSM, RDS, DynamoDB, SNS, IAM, and AWS networking. Solid understanding of key concepts such as connecting services across networks/accounts, configuring access and permissions, and designing for reliability.
• JavaScript: Strong development experience using JavaScript to build and configure AWS infrastructure and cloud services.
• Python: Strong backend development experience with the ability to build applications/services, integrate with AWS and databases, and write automated tests.
• End-to-End Development: Proven experience transforming POCs into usable production systems, including backend development, infrastructure, testing, deployment, security, and reliability.

NICE TO HAVES

Experience in a startup, logistics, inventory, supply chain, or manufacturing environment is a plus—particularly in environments where engineers have broad ownership and are responsible for building solutions end to end.
