Job summary

Space Executive is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead a backend/platform engineering team within a fast-growing fintech environment. You will own the backend systems, APIs and platform infrastructure that power our core products.

The role emphasizes scalable, reliable, secure systems; you'll mentor engineers, shape technical direction, and collaborate with Product, Data Science, Infrastructure, and other engineering teams.

Qualifications

• 3–7 years of Engineering Management experience.
• Strong background as a Senior or Staff-level backend engineer.
• Experience with Golang, Python or similar languages.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and system design.
• Experience owning backend architecture in production.
• Experience working in startup or high-growth environment.
• Ideally experience building internal platforms, shared services or developer tooling.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a backend/platform engineering team.
• Own technical direction of backend services and APIs.
• Drive scalability, reliability and security across the platform.
• Work closely with Product, Data Science, Infrastructure and Engineering.
• Contribute to architecture and technical design decisions.
• Help build scalable API-driven systems and platform capabilities.
• Hiring, mentoring and developing engineers.
• Staying close to the technical work and helping solve complex engineering problems.
