TypeSafe is seeking a senior backend engineer to build and maintain its API platform for inference. You’ll work on latency‑sensitive, user‑facing services with uptime and backward compatibility requirements across distributed systems and networking.

Our stack includes Python, TypeScript, Next.js, Tailwind CSS, and Kubernetes. The role is based in our San Francisco office near Embarcadero station, in person.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience (backend) with a team that maintains high engineering standards.
• Experience designing storage abstractions for scaled backend systems.
• Experience designing resilient systems and improving on-call experience in production.

Responsabilités

• Define APIs for a new AI inference experience and iterate on design for ease of use.
• Create robust infrastructure for serving inference across multiple cloud providers.
• Define abstractions to support growing billing and business logic needs.
• Expose new model features to users.
