Job summary

MaintainX is rapidly expanding its Backend team within Platform Engineering in Miami, delivering an internal developer platform used by 150+ developers. You will design and build backend foundations, introduce AI-native workflows, and drive standardized platform primitives.

The role demands a strong distributed systems background and leadership across multiple teams. The ideal candidate excels in Node.js/TypeScript, GraphQL design at scale, and cloud/CI/CD practices, with a product mindset

Qualifications

5+ years of distributed systems experience.
Expert in Node.js, TypeScript, or similar languages.
Proficient designing, maintaining, and evolving GraphQL APIs at scale.
Strong AI mindset.
Good knowledge of cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines.
A product mindset: build platforms for internal customers.
Excellent English communication and ability to lead across teams.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain backend foundations and tooling powering our internal developer platform.
Bring AI native features and workflows into the platform daily.
Raise engineering excellence standards across the team.
Lead consolidation and evolution of platform primitives and CI/CD workflows.
