Job summary

Walmart Global Tech in Bentonville, AR, seeks a Backend Java Developer to design and build robust enterprise backend services using Spring Boot, Kafka, and CosmosDB. You will implement secure authentication, optimize performance, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable solutions.

Responsibilities include architecture leadership, code reviews, and mentoring teammates while leveraging Azure storage and Pub-Sub services.

Qualifications

• Option 1: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
• Option 2: 5 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area and 1 year’s experience in software engineering or related area.

Responsibilities

• Develop and Maintain Backend Services: design, build, enhance, and optimize backend services using Java and Spring Boot for high performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Data Management: implement real-time data streaming with Kafka and Google Pub-Sub; use Azure CosmosDB, Azure SQL for storage and retrieval.
• Implement Security and Authentication: develop secure authentication/authorization to protect data and meet industry standards.
• Optimize Application Performance: identify bottlenecks and use profiling tools for efficiency.
• Monitor and Troubleshoot Issues: setup monitoring, diagnose production issues for high availability.
• Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: work with team leads and developers to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Architecture and Design: lead design/architecture of complex enterprise backend systems.
• Code Reviews and Testing: ensure best practices and maintain code quality.
