Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking a lead software engineer in Houston to design, develop, and troubleshoot secure production-grade applications in an Agile team. You will own backend services in Java/Spring Boot, integrate with AWS data stores, and drive architecture discussions while mentoring peers.

Responsibilities include API design, real-time data processing using Kafka/RabbitMQ, Kubernetes deployments, and ensuring high-quality software through comprehensive testing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field and 7+ years of software engineering roles.
• Extensive Java backend experience with Spring Boot and REST APIs.
• Experience with AWS cloud services and data stores (Aurora, PostgreSQL, Oracle).
• Proficiency in real-time data ingestion with Kafka/RabbitMQ and MongoDB data modeling.
• Experience with serverless, Kubernetes (Helm, Karpenter), and CI/CD (Jenkins, Spinnaker).
• Strong UI experience in React ecosystem (Hooks, Redux Toolkit, Router).
• Security, IAM, and identity federation concepts (ADFS).
• ETL/BigData workflows (AWS Glue, Redshift) and on-prem to cloud data transfers.

Responsibilities

• Develop secure, high-quality production code and perform unit to end-to-end testing.
• Design and implement backend services in Java/Spring Boot and RESTful APIs.
• Lead technical discussions, mentor engineers, and review peers' work.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align requirements and timelines.
• Contribute to architecture decisions and research new automation methods.
• Conduct technical interviews and help shape product design and operations.
